Following an early morning check-in, the day's tasks involved synthesizing the upstream and downstream impacts of the proposed interventions by looking at the systemic properties of the focal area of intervention as well as the higher and lower scales so that the greatest regenerative impact could be achieved.
In order to think further about these issues, Dominique spoke to the group about Regenerative and Biophilic Design. Using a metaphor of a tree which both takes and gives, it was quite an impact to have the talk about a regenerative system under the trees., and they were asked to walk through the landscape and look for examples of biophilia within a range of options suggested by Stephen Kellert.
After the presentations, the everyone relaxed for an evening of fun and games that helped break any ice that was still left to be broken. It included some Aussie pub games (involving coins and head or tails), a world cup between the Aussies and Saffers that culminated in an egg breaking competition (in the interests of diplomacy, we won't reveal the winning team), a category game where every TV show and sport in history was probably listed, and an adapted version of speed dating where each person was given a random person's list of "3 things about me" which they had to adopt and later on guess the writer's identity...needless to say, this resulted in very interesting and weirdly wonderful moments of hilarity.
